How to use our products

Kawakawa Infusion:

Before use, test on a patch of your dog’s skin to check for an adverse reaction. If your dog has a broken skin barrier, then a diluted (50:50 with water) solution should be applied.

You need to be methodical in the use of Kawakawa Infusion. It is a relief from grass seeds/pollen/juices, which your pet is being continually exposed to. 

Application - at least twice daily, especially in spring and summer:  

1) After walking, rinse your dog’s sensitive areas with water (e.g. with a hose) and apply liberally. Always rinse thoroughly between the pads of paws (dogs can transfer allergens to the rest of their body through licking). 

2) Spray Kawakawa Infusion on all these areas, making sure it gets to the skin.

3) Try to stop them licking it off before it dries - so it has a chance to work on the skin. (Licking the product will not make your dog/horse sick).

Nb/ If your dog has a double coat, then you may need to apply Kawakawa Infusion with a saturated cloth to get the solution onto the skin.

If your dog has significant exposure to grass allergens resulting in an outbreak of inflamed skin…, persevere. Keep up with the Kawakawa Infusion. You can soak a cloth in the product cold (from the fridge), and leave it on rash areas for about a minute.

Once your pet is dry, they are safe to hop up on furniture, as staining does not then occur.

Kawakawa Oil:

Kawakawa Oil can be used on areas of skin where irritation is particularly persistent, for dry skin, or small patches of broken skin. It is very effective, so you only need to apply it in small amounts. To help prevent your dog licking it off, apply at bedtime.

Kawakawa Epsom Salts:

Kawakawa Epsom Salts is an important part of our complete grass allergy range. 

Used as a shampoo alternative, dissolve two heaped tablespoons of Kawakawa Epsom Salts in a shallow bath.

Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse with cold water.
